WHAT FOR

Easy Focus is an “ImageJ”-Macro that returns the best focused slice of a stack that represents a focus series. The stack may contain a single focus series (z-stack), a temporal sequence of focus series (4D-hyperstack), or focus series of colour channels (4D-hyperstack).

Easy Focus requires stacks of square-sized image-support or selection (ROI).

Easy Focus-analyses are RGB-agnostic and cannot be applied to 5D-hyperstacks.

 

STEP 1

Download “EasyFocus_1-x-y.zip” and unzip it.

Unzipping results in folder:

 

STEP 2

Start the “Fiji”-application.

Choose the “Fiji” menu item:

 

STEP 3

In the opening file-open dialog search for folder “EasyFocus_1-x-y”.

Select and open file:

 

STEP 4

The plugin should now appear under the “Fiji” Plugins-menu:

 

STEP 5

Choose the “Fiji” menu item:

 

STEP 6

In the opening file-open dialog search for the folder “EasyFocus_1-x-y”.

Select and open file:

 

STEP 7

In the opening file-save dialog search for the folder “Macros”.

Select this folder and click the Save-button:

 

STEP 8

Quit and re-start the “Fiji” application.

 

STEP 9

“Easy Focus” should now appear under the “Fiji” Macros-submenu:

Easy Focus may be used without a license.

 

Easy Focus is NOT in the public domain.

 

Easy Focus may NOT be sold.

 

Easy Focus is provided AS IS and you use it entirely at your own risk.

• If source code in file “Easy Focus.ijm” is altered and distributed, the above “Terms of Use” must be maintained and included with the altered code.  It must also be mentioned that the altered code is based on copyrighted code of Bureau H. Glünder and that changes have been made.
